Donovan Lewis, 20, died Tuesday after being shot by Columbus Police Officer Ricky Anderson, a 30-year veteran with the Columbus Division of Police assigned to the K9 Unit, according to a police statement.

During a news conference Tuesday, Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant said the shooting happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment building where uninformed officers were serving a felony warrant for domestic violence and assault and improper handling of a firearm. Opinion

This news is related to the Sharing the planet and Social organization because this article shows us a violation of the human rights made by the ones who are the law and order.

Just by reading the headline of the article, my hair stood on end. How is it possible that the first thing that came to the police officer's mind was shooting Donovan? I do not get it. Police officers are supposed to be role models for people, and they should make us feel safer, but after readings this kind of news, I can not feel safe.

Every once in a while, new articles are posted saying how a police officer killed someone who was innocent. That is intolerable, the governments should run psychological tests on every police officer and check if he/she has the capabilities to be a good officer and help people, not scare them, or make them any harm.
