NASA's James Webb Space Telescope has captured the first direct image of an exoplanet - a planet beyond our solar system - in another first for the new space project. The image was released on Thursday by NASA with four different light filters. "This is a transformative moment, not only for Webb but also for astronomy generally", said Sasha Hinkley, associate professor of physics and astronomy at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom, who led these observations with a large international collaboration.   Buenos Aires - A man attempted to shoot Argentine Vice President Cristina Kirchner near her home in Buenos Aires on Thursday, a shocking incident that prompted a wave of sympathy from Latin American leaders. "Cristina remains alive because, for a reason that has not yet been technically confirmed, the gun which contained 5 bullets did not fire despite the trigger having been pulled", Argentina's President Alberto Fernandez said in an address to the nation.  "This is the most serious event that has happened since we restored democracy" in 1983, Fernandez said. Police in Columbus, Ohio, have released body camera video that shows a police officer fatally shooting an unarmed black man in his bed. Donovan Lewis, 20, died Tuesday after being shot by Columbus Police Officer Ricky Anderson, a 30-year veteran with the Columbus Division of Police assigned to the K9 Unit, according to a police statement. During a news conference Tuesday, Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant said the shooting happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday at an apartment building where uninformed officers were serving a felony warrant for domestic violence and assault and improper handling of a firearm. Ravil Maganov was given a lifetime achievement award by President Vladimir Putin in 2019 The Chairman of Russia's Lukoil oil giant, Ravil Maganov, has died after falling from a hospital window in Moscow, reports say. Maganov, 67, was being treated at the city's Central Clinical Hospital and died from his injuries, sources told Russian media.  He is the latest of a number of high-profile business executives to die in mysterious circumstances. Shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine, Lukoil called for the war to end. Early in March, the Lukoil board called for the conflict in Ukraine to end as soon as possible, expressing its sympathy to the victims of this tragedy. Ravil Maganov took over as chairman of Lukoil's board two years ago. He began working for the private oil company in 1993.
